Mile Zero Brewing is an award-winning Nano Brewery and community hub located in Metchosin BC. We’re passionate about making high quality, small batch beers and we are looking for a brewer who shares that passion.

In our first 3 years of operations, we have positioned ourselves as a local community hub and have developed a reputation for well crafted, drinkable beer, and have won several
awards for our beer. We are seeking an engaged and passionate brewer to join our small team and to build on our established line of tasty, small batch beers,

We are a small but mighty team which aims to grow and expand in the coming years.
We are entering an exciting stage of growth for our small but mighty team with plans already underway to expand events, production and distribution. We are looking the right person to be part of that journey with us.

The ideal candidate for this position is an individual with strong brewing skills combined with excellent organization and time management who is eager to join a small team and help propel the brewery into its next chapter.

This position has the possibility to grow into a Head Brewer position.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Our Brewer will work closely with our owners in the operation of the Brewery and production planning.

We are looking for our Brewer to:
·      Brew great beer…
·      Demonstrate consistency in the production of high quality beers that align with Mile Zero’s standards and values
·      Accurately brew beer according to recipes
·      Manage and run all elements of the brewing process including: brewing, cleaning, transferring, cellaring, quality control, equipment maintenance, packaging and R&D
·      Develop and maintain the production schedule
·      Perform gravity and PH measurements on active batches
·      Maintain production reporting and records
·      Manage inventory of raw ingredients, maintain traceability records, brew sheets, packaging logs and other administrative duties
·      Participate in long term brewery planning and forecasting to promote brewery growth
·      Represent Mile Zero Brewing at conferences and events.
·      Be an integral part of the growth and continued success of Mile Zero Brewing
Our Ideal Brewer will have:
·      Brewing experience in a commercial environment and/or formal education in brewing and brewery operations
·      Excellent communication skills
·      Strong organizational and planning skills
·      Experience with troubleshooting equipment repairs, evaluation and maintenance of brewhouse
·      Adaptable and innovative
·      Technically inclined

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $21 to $24 per hour depending on experience and qualifications
